Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange
Saturday, October 4 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
Drop in to trade used puzzles for ones that are new to you with other puzzle lovers. Puzzles should be clean and should contain all pieces. This event takes place in the Readers Advisory Area.
Censorship Is So 1984- Read For Your Rights: Interactive Banned Books Display – September 8-October 20
Banned Books Week is October 5-11, 2025, and this year’s theme featuring George Orwell’s 1984 reminds us that that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights. Visit our display to see books that have been challenged or banned throughout the years. You’ll have the opportunity to guess why, and then find out the reason. These books are also available for check out! Other interactive and informative activities will be featured as well.
Spooky Mini Art Show
Pick up a mini canvas from the Readers Desk from September 15-October 18, 2025.
Feel free to be as creative as possible and decorate your canvas with anything you would like, the spookier the better! Return your canvas to the Readers Desk by 5 pm on October 18, 2025 to be included in our Spooky Mini Art Show.
All canvases will be on display until November 8, 2025 and can be picked back up by participants beginning on November 10, 2025.

If you every find yourself in a reading slump or want to try out a new genre, check out our new Book Jar at the Readers Desk! Simply choose a slip from the jar and get a Sandusky Library staff-recommended read. Slips are color coded by genre so that you can pick with some purpose.
