Sandusky, Ohio — Sandusky Library is excited to announce the launch of its newly redesigned logo, marking an exciting step forward in the organization’s visual identity while honoring its deep roots in the community.

The new logo features:

  • Bold blocks of color which represent both a stack of books and the Library’s four primary service areas that include the City of Sandusky, Perkins Township, Margaretta Township, and Kelleys Island. This visual approach highlights the Library’s commitment to serving diverse communities while reinforcing its core mission of access to knowledge and resources.
  • A refreshed, classic, and vibrant color palette was inspired by the surrounding coastal region and tones reminiscent of the Library’s limestone building and clay roof tiles.
  • Fresh, modern, and highly readable fonts.
  • Bolded text elements incorporated to help visitors quickly identify each branch of the Library and its primary function, improving clarity and across all materials and locations.

The new logo was developed by the Library’s experienced in-house team with decades of expertise in branding and graphic design. The process included weeks of research, discovery, and collaboration, with valuable input gathered from Library staff and community stakeholders to ensure the final design reflects the community it serves.

In addition to the new logo, the Library is also announcing a name update for one of its key historical assets. The Follett House Museum will now be known as the Sandusky History Museum at the Follett House, a name that better communicates its role in preserving and sharing the region’s rich history.

“This rebrand represents more than just a new look,” said William Rutger, Executive Director. “It invites some to rediscover the Library and for others to celebrate the place they’ve always loved.”

The new branding will be rolled out across Library locations, digital platforms, and materials in the coming weeks.
